Prepare for the Porsche 911 (992) GT3 RS Debut.

29/7/2022

The Porsche 911 GT3, three characters that symbolise so much more. The "GT3" nameplate was introduced as a homologation model for the cars entered in the FIA GT3 cup. The unveiling of the first Porsche 911 GT3 in March 1999 at the Geneva Motor Show signalled the start of a new era for discerning sports car drivers. A truly unique Porsche 911, the GT3 embodies all the hallmarks of Porsche Motorsport.

More than 20 years later in February 2021, Porsche released the 992-type 911 GT3 – the seventh iteration of this high-performance sports car. Transferring more racing technology into the production model than ever before. The double-wishbone front axle layout and sophisticated aerodynamics with swan neck rear wing and striking diffuser originate from the successful GT race car, the Porsche 911 RSR.

The 992 GT3 with Touring Package shortly followed in June 2021 – The exterior’s most conspicuous difference is the omission of the fixed rear wing of the 911 GT3. The front end is painted completely in the exterior colour. The interior, with extended leather items in Black, is particularly elegant and is available exclusively for the GT3 with Touring package.

On 17 August 2022, the GT3’s new big brother will be revealed: the 911 GT3 RS, a new pinnacle of performance for the 911 model line.

“The new 911 GT3 RS is even more optimised for track use than its predecessors. The spontaneously responsive, high-revving four-litre, six-cylinder boxer engine with approximately 500 PS has proven ideal for use at track days and club sport events,” says Andreas Preuninger, Director of GT Model Line.

The digital world premiere of the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS will be broadcast on newstv.porsche.com on 17 August at 5:00pm CEST. The video will also be available on demand there after the event.
